What’s the difference between sport psychology and performance psychology?

Performance psychology takes a more inclusive approach to address performance enhancement in various domains beyond athletics but shares the common principles and techniques to optimize human performance. While sport psychology specifically addresses performance in athletic settings, performance psychology takes a broader approach, encompassing a wide range of performance disciplines.

What is performance psychology?

Performance psychology is a specialized field within psychology that focuses on understanding and enhancing the mental and emotional aspects of athletic performance along with enhancing human performance across various domains. It involves the study and application of psychological principles and techniques to optimize the performance, motivation, and well-being of participants in diverse contexts beyond sports.
